For sale we are delighted to present this fine quality rare Antique 19th Century Brass - Bronze 8 Day French Chapel Chiming Bell Shaped Clock fully working.

The heavy guage bronze brass bell shaped body cast with a loop handle at the top, the bell case has ecclesiastical pattern of upper half body of saints framed in a medieval style border & between are foliate patterns all over, on three bands are Latin scripture that reads, Pater noster in coelis(our father in heaven) Dominus vobiscum (the lord be with you) & Et cum spiritu tuo (and with you spirit) all supported on turnip shaped brass feet.

The Dial with domed glass front & hinged snap shut frame houses the circular dial with White enamel panels displaying Roman numerals & cast central quatrefoil gothic pattern.

The movement a French EP ( Essen Pendule DE’ Paris ) 8 day 2 train movement chimes on a coiled gong for the half hour once & the hour for hour numbers with a fine quality adjustable pendulum stamped.

Condition the clock is fully working functioning & keeping very good time as to be expected ( the clocks previous owner a deceased clock, watch repairer) the case is uncleaned & has a brass - bronze patina ( we don't clean as some customers prefer original aged patina ) but this will polish to golden brass if you prefer to do so, no damages or foul repairs hinges to front & rear good sturdy stable. 1 minor chip to enamel number 8 where key wind hole enters, key present unsure if original but fits well.
